Begin with alternative evaluation

Regarding price, quality, and style of product.
After conducting these interviews
I found that it depends on the person and the institution that I am
talking to. Each point carries its own weight in the decision making process.
That being said, price was the most important this time around as it would be
costly to carry through with my solution.
2.
How/where do they buy?
a.
This purchase could be in store or online. It
would be easier to do online as there are many more options to choose from. I
am almost certain that this purchase would be financed as it is a rather large
project and would cost a substantial amount.
3.
Post-purchase evaluation
a.
When looking back on the purchase the most
important thing is how the students and the campus is changed from it. The only
thing that would make it seem like a bad purchase is if students didn’t come to the library anymore, which is highly unlikely.
4.
Report the findings
a.
I touched on my interviews in each of the
questions above. I interviewed three more university officials in order to gain
this information. Although not all of them agreed with my solution, they were
open with how they would react to each of the points above.
5.
Draw conclusions
I have not come across anyone that
has had to deal with this solution yet. This forced me to ask hypothetical
questions in order to see how each interviewee would react in each situation.
Each interviewee was able to provide me with valuable information regarding
each point.

ReplyDeleteI agree that it could potentially be costly to take all the books out of the library and electronically store them to make room for more tables to study at. However, Im not quite sure how this idea would generate any profit from UF students. Im also curious how this purchase could be generated in store, although I do have a few questions, overall you did good!

ReplyDeleteI really still love your idea on making more spaces in libraries by getting rid of all of the books, however, many people still use books. I do like purchasing books online but more people would study elsewhere than the library. Overall good job and keep up the good work.

ReplyDeleteI agree that many spaces in the library could be freed up if we remove many of the books, however many of them are only available in print and as such would be incredibly costly to move into a digital database. But if it could be done in such a way that optimizes both than I am all for your idea. Good Job.
